Einstein’s Special Relativity Anniversary

On June 30, 1905, Albert Einstein published his On the Electrodynamics of Moving Bodies paper that set out his theory of special relativity. In honor of the holiday, I will be reading various interconnected topics, as time permits (hint hint, wink wink).

Sources:

Interconnected Brainstorming:

  • Newton’s theory of absolute time

    • Why was absolute time accepted versus relative time, with the usage of Newtonian clocks being the standard?

  • Biblical account of Joshua stopping the sun from setting

  • Mystical account of Babaji’s ability to transcend time through the Siddhis

  • Samadhi/nirvana in yoga and Buddhist traditions collapsing time altogether

  • Biblical account of God being light == time stopping completely at the speed of light == Siddhis achieving “God-like consciousness”

  • Einstein’s time dilation theory + mystical time transcendence

  • The Power of Now book may have connected topics in easy-to-digest language for ease of understanding

  • Hermetic principles + maybe Ma’at philosophies specifically

As I read and develop further questions, I’ll update here.
