Nighttime Mantras for Thought Rumination

Repeat the following phrases either out loud or in your head until you feel a sense of calm:

“I will figure out what works best for me and my life for this situation that I am currently ruminating on. I always navigate the tough times, and I always will. There is nothing different about this situation that points towards me not being able to figure it out.”

“Fears look scary by day, and insignificant by year.”

“I do not remember the pain I was feeling on this day last year. I will not remember the pain I am feeling on this day next year.”

“I have proven to myself time and time again that I am successfully able to navigate tough situations. I trust myself, and I can rely on my inner knowing that I can too get through this.”

“Emotions are temporary states of being.”

“I allow my brain to rest for the night. I can think about this tomorrow. What would be best for my overall health at this moment would be to sleep. Few good decisions are made at a time of rushing thoughts that I am unable to control.”

“If I have done it before, I can do it again.”
